What does this notice cover?
This notice explains how we use your personal data: how it is collected, how it is held and how it is processed. It also explains your rights under the law relating to your personal data. It applies to this website (oko.com), to orders placed through our online shop, and to enquiries you send us.
Orders placed through our online shop are also covered by our store privacy policy, which describes in detail the information processed by our e-commerce platform when you buy from us.
What is personal data?
Personal data is defined by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) as ‘any information relating to a person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier’.
In simpler terms, personal data is any information about you that enables you to be identified. It covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but also less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data and other online identifiers.
What are your rights?
You have rights as a ‘data subject’ and we have an obligation to uphold them:
- Right to be informed – we must be transparent about how we collect and use your personal data.
- Right of access – you can access your personal data and supplementary information.
- Right to rectification – if the information we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it.
- Right to erasure – you can ask us to delete personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it.
- Right to restrict processing – you can ask us to stop processing your data if you consider it inaccurate or incomplete, while we consider an objection you have made, or where we no longer need the data but you need it to support a legal claim.
- Right to data portability – where you have consented to our processing, or where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you, you can ask for a copy of that data in electronic form, or for it to be given to a third party.
- Right to object – you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and you can always object to direct marketing.
- Rights relating to automated decision-making – we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact details at the end of this notice.
